Product Carbon Footprint comparison

At Engelmann, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. That is why we have developed our recycling program comprehensively reviewed. The result of the analysis carried out in 2025 is clear: by reusing the two main components – electronic components and brass components of the hydraulics – we reduce the CO₂ emissions per recycled SensoStar by around 35 percent compared to a meter without a recycled component. This corresponds to a saving of around 6 kg of CO₂ per device.

90 percent of the electronics and 95 percent of the hydraulics are reused. This not only reduces the need for new materials, but also makes an active contribution to climate protection. The CO₂ values determined were confirmed in October 2025 as part of the analysis of our recycling program.

The environmental balance sheet shows that the reuse of the main components in particular has a major influence on the overall impact. Together, electronics and hydraulics are responsible for up to 86% of the CO₂ footprint of the raw materials used. By consistently using our recycling program, we can significantly reduce the use of materials and conserve valuable resources – more than 400 grams of new material are saved per device, including brass and electronic components in particular

But that’s not all at Engelmann. We also pay attention to the careful use of resources in our day-to-day work. We work largely paper-free, rely on digital processes and avoid unnecessary transportation routes. Our goal is to live sustainability holistically and to continuously develop it further.
