Innovation driver Engelmann hosts AI meeting

On July 15, the AI meeting “AI-Canteen” took place for the first time at Engelmann. The thematic focus: artificial intelligence in the company. When the Engelmann canteen, which is over 40 years old, is transformed into a hotspot of the future, AI, or artificial intelligence, is not far away. This was precisely the thematic focus of the so-called AI-Canteen. On July 15, we hosted the event initiated by the DPRG (German Public Relations Association) and the BdKom (Federal Association of Communicators). As a driver of innovation in our own industry, this host role was a matter of course for us. 20 people attended the event and exchanged ideas about AI in day-to-day business.

Innovation drivers from Hesse and Baden-Württemberg

The two organizing associations regularly host such events. And, like almost every event, the AI-Canteen was also well attended: major players such as Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, SAP Deutschland and EnBW, but also somewhat smaller companies such as firstcolo GmbH or agencies such as Nicarus GmbH or SCHiCK! Communications were on site. Communication managers from the companies were in the canteen and were informed by an extensive program. This was supported by seven presentations on AI tools in everyday working life. Two absolutely crucial topics, despite all the euphoria about AI, were delivered by Engelmann colleagues Swen Rettig and Thomas Reichbauer. They addressed not only the technical and legal aspects that arise when introducing AI in a company, but also the human aspects. The rapid development in the field of artificial intelligence is not only being met with euphoria by German and global companies. In particular, individual employees must be taken along on the journey (legally secure and in compliance with the Works Constitution Act, for example). Unfounded fears must be allayed and tools and processes should be introduced in a well thought-out manner. At Engelmann itself, these are all premises that we follow and with which we integrate AI into our future-oriented innovations in a meaningful way. We are looking forward to the AI journey and are delighted that the DPRG and BdKom have chosen us as a hidden champion to bring the AI canteen to life.
