Engelmann Sensor GmbH is an innovative company with tradition. The forerunner of the present firm, founded in 1975 by Hans Engelmann, was established for the main purpose of developing and producing heat meters and was a pioneer at the time, when heat meters were used almost exclusively in Germany. An important milestone in the 1980’s was the development of one of the first microprocessor-controlled heat meter models.

After being taken over in 2002 by the Brendecke family, who implemented comprehensive modernization measures, the 5-million-heat-meters-sold benchmark was reached in 2010. Annual production today stands at approximately 400,000 heat and cooling meters and calculators for meters, most of them SENSOSTAR^® models. In addition, Engelmann heat meters and metering components are distributed by several major customers under their own brand name.
